On 23rd November, the National Training Academy for Rail (NTAR) will be holding a one day event at their purpose built training facility in Northampton. Designed specifically for ex-forces personnel, the day will illustrate how valuable military skills and experiences can be translated for roles within the Rail industry.
The event will coincide with the launch of a brand new Traction and Rolling Stock qualification, which qualifies for ELCAS funding, and enables potential ex-forces employees to gain a rail specific qualification before they start working in industry – making them work ready from day one.
The course is Level 3, a combination of theoretical and practical training, and will take 5 or 10 days to complete, depending on previous experience.
The main focus of the day will be engineering; however, NTAR will also be promoting other roles that require a range of skills sets, suitable for recruits from all ranks.
Also present will be many of the top rail companies including the Talent Acquisition Partners for Siemens, Bombardier, Hitachi, Eurostar and Northern Rail, so delegates will have the opportunity to speak with potential employers and possibly to register their CVs. Tours of the NTAR state-of-the-art training facility will be running throughout the day.
With no cost to attend, the day offers a full agenda with great networking, case studies of how others have made the journey into industry, and the chance to explore how military gained knowledge can be applied to careers within rail.
Supported by the CTP and the Officers Association, it’s a day not to be missed.
